District Executives

Lt Gov. Education & Training
Randie Jacobs, DTM

Fellow Toastmasters,

As District 60's Lieutenant Governor of Education & Training, I am truly looking forward to working with this year's outstanding team of leaders who, I can assure you, are as excited as I am about Harnessing the Power Within for even greater Success!

District 60 is a mighty District with a rich history of dynamic leaders and enthusiastic, committed members. My vision is for healthy, vibrant club meetings where members are encouraged to experience Toastmasters educational opportunities. In this positive setting, individual members will experience personal growth.

Now, for any District to remain healthy, it must never lose sight of the indicators for its continued success: attainment of Competent Communicator Awards, Advanced Communicator Awards and Leadership Awards. To achieve those goals, I would like to share my Lt. Governor Education & Training Plan with you:

  • Encourage area governors to promote members to attain one Competent Communicator Award per person, per year, per club.
That's right! Even if a Toastmaster has attained their Competent Communicator Award in the past, Toastmasters International allows Toastmasters to achieve even more Competent Communicator awards at the rate of one CC, per person, per year, per club.

Let's encourage our Toastmasters to attain more CC's!

  • Encourage each club to attain the maximum number of Advanced Communicator Awards as required to go over the top for the DCP.
  • Encourage each club to attain the maximum number of Competent Leader and Advanced Leader Awards as required to go over the top for the DCP
  • Attain a bumper crop of High Performance Leadership Awards this year by promoting opportunities for High Performance Leadership Awards at the District, Division, Area and Club level.
  • Ensure provision of numerous club officer training events to encourage maximum number of club officers trained to fulfill their roles and responsibilities.
  • Through the network of Education Ambassadors offer tremendous educational programming throughout the District.
  • Promote understanding of the Toastmasters Educational program through heightened training of VP Education at Club, Division and District level.
  • Encourage increased educational content at District, Division, Area and Club level through programs such as Success/Leadership Series, Success/Communication Series, The Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series and other resources.
  • Encourage increased educational content at District, Division, Area and Club level through programs such as Success/Leadership Series, Success/Communication Series, The Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series and other resources.
  • Serve as a resource, providing excellent customer service to our members and prospective members.

Yes, this is a bold plan! I am confident however, that with your support and participation we can and will create even healthier and more successful Clubs, Areas and Divisions.

Your District team anticipates an exciting and active 2009-2010. Remember, we are here to support you! Wishing everyone success in their goals for 2009-2010!

Randie Jacobs DTM, Lt. Governor Education & Training
